As a celebrant I frequently welcome groups of people who have gathered together for a specific reason. Often the group members will not know each other, but the common purpose binds us all.
What are some of the events that you have been part of a gathering for? It might be a specific birthday, a changing name ceremony, a baby naming, a marriage, a retirement, a coming out party, the death of a family pet, or even the introduction of one - the possibilities are endless.
The inclusion of a celebrant adds an emphasis to any event by bringing a certain formality by simply being there.
